Midcoast FCU is seeking an AVP Branch Operations to direct and coordinate all branch activities within the credit union with the primary focus on maintaining consistency in performing the retail operations to maximize member acquisition, retention, and relationship depth across all branch locations, while mitigating reputation and compliance risk. This role will be responsible for ensuring a consistently high level of positive member engagement at all levels of the branch structure to embed behaviors and actions that unite each branch location to create a persistent members first mentality.

This is a hybrid position with some in office work required. Candidates must be willing and able to travel between 5 branch locations spanning from Thomaston to Freeport as needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Operational Efficiency – Develop, implement, and monitor for updates as needed the operational processes and standards within branches to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and efficiency. Maintain up to date operational guides, training aids, and competency materials. Support and facilitate onboarding processes for new team members that reduces operational risk by eliminating redundant or manual processes. Ensure branch procedures align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and new technology updates.
  • Employee Management – Lead and develop the Branch Manager team to ensure strong performance, effective communication, and consistent execution of branch operations. Oversee hiring, performance management, coaching, and staffing levels to support service needs. Maintain a positive team culture and ensure retail teams are informed of regulatory, procedural, and program changes. Spend dedicated time, at least one full week annually, in each branch, and maintain a regular, visible presence throughout the year to effectively monitor team performance, support leadership visibility, and ensure operational alignment.
  • Training and Development – Ensure comprehensive training plans are in place for all branch roles that are designed to support ongoing skill development, product knowledge, and deepen member relationships. Oversee delivery of internal and third-party product training and ensure staff competency is regularly measured and assessed. Oversee timely resolution of any member issues to protect the credit union’s reputation and reinforce member service standards.
  • Monitor branch facilities to ensure brand consistency, safety, compliance, and the completion of routine building maintenance by Branch Managers. Manage relationships with third party vendors supporting branch operations. Perform additional duties assigned to support organizational needs.
  • Credit Union Core Values – Serve as a culture leader by reinforcing the credit union’s mission, values, and service expectations. Participate actively at the AVP level, contributing to strategic planning, goal setting, branch structure evaluation, and policy development. Monitor industry trends and provide recommendations that support organizational growth and operational excellence.
Experience:

5-10 years of similar or related experience, ideally with another credit union or financial institution.

Education:

A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or equivalent experience within the industry is required.
