Residence Life & Housing Director
This position is responsible for directing the operations, programming and services of an assigned residence hall. This position is designated by the institution as Essential Personnel and designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervising Resident Assistants and front-desk staff; developing and implementing educational and social programming; working collaboratively with facilities management to resolve issues; counseling and advising residents; enforcing the Student Code of Conduct; facilitating residence hall operations; managing budgets; and performing related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include a baccalaureate degree in a related field, a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, passing a pre-employment drug test, and more than one year of related experience. Preferred qualifications include two years of student affairs or higher education experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include effective communication, understanding of best practices in residence life and housing, personnel management, budget management, student life programming, and computer proficiency. Skills also include delegation, collaboration, decision making, problem solving, interpersonal relations, and oral and written communication.
