Job Summary:

The CNA will provide essential care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and working closely with the nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Essential Functions:

  • Patient Care:Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Provide mobility assistance, including help with walking, transferring, and positioning.
  • Ensure patient comfort by adjusting beds, turning patients, and providing adequate hydration and nourishment.
  • Medical Assistance:Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Assist with basic medical procedures under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Collect specimens for lab tests as directed.
  • Observation and Reporting:Monitor and document patient condition and care provided in medical records.
  • Report any changes in patient status or behavior to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Environmental Maintenance:Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
  • Assist with the cleaning and sterilization of equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure patient rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and linens.

    Collaboration:

    Work collaboratively with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Participate in training and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices in patient care.
  • Support and assist fellow CNAs and healthcare staff as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Conforms to all applicable Agency policies and procedures.
  • Participates actively in continuing education and in-services.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information and business trade practices
  • Assumes accountability for reporting incidents and complaints according to Agency policy.

  • Maintains Agency/program compliance with local, state, and federal laws as well as state accreditation standards.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of Nursing Assistant course and certification as required by the state in which employed.
  • Experience:

    One (1) year experience in a comparable job classification
  • License / Certification:

    Driver’s license and proof of current auto liability insurance; no listing in the OIG Excluded Provider listing
  • Has successfully completed one of the following:

    Training program/competency eval as specified in §418.76 (b) (c) of the Medicare regulations.
  • Competency eval program that meets §418.76 (c)
  • Nurse Aide training/competency eval program approved by the state and listed in good
  • Standing on the state nurse aide registry:
  • State Licensure program that meets requirements of §418.76
