Retail Buyer and Merchandiser

Our chocolate factory and retail gift shops are seeking a Part-Time Retail Buyer & Merchandiser to lead product purchasing, visual merchandising, internal stock ordering and product bundling for sale in our store. This hands‑on role is perfect for someone with a creative eye, strong organizational skills, and a passion for retail presentation.

• Purchase, receive, price and reorder retail products for resale in our retail chocolate and gift shops (3 locations - Freeport & Brunswick) within budget.
• Order seasonal chocolate products internally, along with seasonal packaging and other supplies.
• Plan, merchandise and refresh displays on the sales floor with attractive, seasonal and product groupings.
• Design, assemble, and maintain curated gift baskets and bundled items for retail sale.
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels and customer trends.
• Ensure retail staff are well‑informed on product details.
• Support promotions, seasonal launches, and in‑store events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Retail buying experience preferred; retail and merchandising experience required.
• Creative mindset with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently in a hands‑on, fast‑paced retail environment.
• Access to consistent transportation to Freeport & Brunswick, Maine. This is an in‑person position. (not remote).

This position is part‑time, consistent and year‑round. Minimum of 3 consistent days per week, or 5 half days, etc. Approximately 24 hours a week, hours can be supplemented with retail hours (including weekends) if Full Time position is preferred.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, and reach with arms and hands. They must be able to work/type at a computer terminal for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal. The employee needs to be able to work in a moderate sized shared office space. Fast paced. Chocolate sampling is encouraged.
