Research & Development Food Scientist

Bring Great-Tasting Seafood Ideas to Life! Do you enjoy turning creative food ideas into products customers love? King & Prince Seafood is looking for an R&D Food Scientist to help develop flavorful, high-quality seafood and vegetable products from early bench concepts through successful plant commercialization. In this hands-on, on-site role in Brunswick, Georgia, you will work closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Culinary, Sales, and customers to solve product challenges, improve performance, and bring new ideas to market.

Your work will help shape products that meet the real-world needs of restaurant operators across North America, from great taste and texture to consistent performance, food safety, and efficient production. You will help move ideas from the test kitchen to the production line, using technical skill and collaboration to create products that perform for our food service customers.

• Take new seafood and vegetable product ideas from concept through commercialization.
• Create and refine batters, breading, marinades, glazes, and flavor systems for frozen and ready-to-cook products.
• Lead plant trials, troubleshoot issues, and support smooth scale-up into commercial production.
• Evaluate ingredients, coatings, processing methods, product quality, texture, stability, and sensory performance.
• Build practical product specifications that support customer expectations, food safety, quality, and production needs.
• Collaborate across functions and with customers to keep projects moving and deliver products that win in the market.

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.
• Three to six years of product development experience in food processing; seafood, chicken, or value-added protein experience is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of coating systems, freezing technologies, protein functionality, sensory testing, and plant scale-up.
• Working knowledge of food safety, quality, allergen labeling, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Seafood HACCP requirements.
• A practical problem-solver who communicates well, manages projects effectively, and enjoys working with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
