Diesel Mechanic PTO

About This Role

WM is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers across the USA. The role involves quality maintenance, safety checks, and collaboration with senior mechanics.

• Starting salary of $28+ per hour depending on experience
• Sign‑on bonus $5,000

• Monday – Friday every week
• 1st shift
• No weekends
• Repair/maintenance shop at the Americus, GA hauling site

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and repair times
• Assist senior mechanics in completing project work
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
• Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasionally sitting and balancing
• Exposure to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and toxic chemicals often
• Exposure to environmental factors such as dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, heat, and humidity often
• Work performed in both indoor garage and outdoor conditions including inclement weather
