Local - Highway Maintenance Technician

Overview

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform highway maintenance operations on I-95, based in the Brunswick, Georgia area. This role requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

• Work as a part of a team performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance.
• MUST be flexible and able to work on-call, nights, and weekends when necessary.
• Highway maintenance tasks include, but not limited to: road patrol, incident response, lighting repair, sign repair, guardrail repair, heavy equipment operations, licensed herbicide applicators.

• Roadway maintenance or construction experience
• MOT Certifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Full time Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5:30pm. Must be flexible and available to work on-call when required. Must be able to work on-call for 1 week (every 3 weeks) after-hours on-call rotation.

On the job training provided. Two (2) weeks of paid training provided at time of hire and must be able to travel to our training center. Training schedule will be Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm at our Jacksonville, FL project. Company will provide hotel accommodations during training.

$17.20+ depending on knowledge/experience.
