Serving Maine’s Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.

MSAD 75 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional - Functional Life Skills Program at Bowdoinham Community School to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.

30 hours/week

• Instruct individual and/or small groups of students under the indirect supervision of a teacher.
• Prepare instructional materials.
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by classroom teacher ordesignee.
• Manage behavior accordingIEPand behavior plans.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess.

• Three years of post-secondary education or combination equivalent to 90 hours of approved study.
• Valid Maine Department of Education Educational Technician I, II or III Authorization
• Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
• Behavioral Health Professional certification preferred.
• Mandttrained or ability to train.
• Strong behavioral management skills, ability to consistently follow and implement positive behavior support plans.
• Demonstrated record keeping skills.
• Proven ability to function as a team member.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50+ lbs.

Activity Per Shift-

• Standing/Walking: 6-8 hours
• Sitting: 3-5 hours
• Lifting/Carrying: 3-5 hours, up to 50 pounds
• Pushing/Pulling/Sliding: 1-2 hours
• Climbing Up & Down Stairs: 1-2 hours
• Reaching Overhead: 1-2 hours
• Bending/Twisting: 3-5 hours
• Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: 1-2 hours
• Hands/Arms/Finger Dexterity/Hand Gripping: 6-8 hours
