Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Facilities and Capital Projects, this position leads all aspects of the department’s financial operations. The role manages the development, monitoring, and forecasting of multiple areas—including facilities operations, capital renewal, and capital projects—using variance analysis and projections to identify risks, explain drivers, and recommend adjustments. It oversees key accounting processes (account set‑up, journal entry preparation/review, invoicing, reconciliation, and accounts payable workflow) to ensure transactions are timely, accurate, and aligned with College policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The position prepares routine and ad‑hoc reporting and partners with central finance offices and campus stakeholders to resolve issues, improve processes, and strengthen compliance.
- Budget Development, Forecasting, and Monitoring (Operations, Utilities, Construction, Major Maintenance)
- Accounting Operations & Transaction Oversight (AP, Invoicing, Journal Entries, Account Set‑Up)
- Financial Reporting, Reconciliation, and Close Support
- Variance Analysis & Financial Decision Support
- Quarterly tracking and reporting of all capitalizable fixed assets generated by facilities operations, capital renewal, and capital projects
The hiring range for this position is expected to be: $77,300 – $87,300.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, accounting or related field preferred. An MBA, CPA, or CMA is a plus. Strong analytical, computer, customer service and interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to follow and reinforce established financial policies, approval authorities, documentation standards, and internal controls
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and adjust complex operating budgets and forecasts across multiple cost categories
- Working knowledge of accrual accounting concepts, journal entries, and general ledger structure
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end accounts payable workflows and the ability to improve processes for timeliness, accuracy, and compliance
Minimum 4 years’ experience in an accounting environment or with a public accounting firm required.
- Ability to analyze budget‑to‑actual results, identify underlying drivers, and translate findings into clear recommendations and decision support.
- Proficient in balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules accurately and on deadline; comfort operating in month/quarter‑end close cycles and responding to audit/support requests.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic, data validation; comfort building repeatable templates/models).
- Ability to learn and effectively use ERP/finance systems and reporting tools; ability to extract, validate, and reconcile data across source systems.
- Adept at communicating financial information clearly to non‑finance audiences, including summarizing key messages.
- Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities throughout the year with a high level of accuracy and follow‑through.
- Competence to exercise sound judgment with sensitive financial information; consistent attention to ethics, confidentiality, and stewardship of institutional resources.
- Ability to work effectively with Facilities/Capital Projects staff, central finance partners, and vendors; responsive, customer‑oriented approach while maintaining standards and controls.
Standard administrative hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours, 52 weeks per year, (1.00 FTE). Exempt positions require the time commitment necessary to complete the essential duties of the position.
