ATC / OTC Clinic Lead – Orthopaedic Associates of Maine

Are you an experienced Athletic Trainer or Orthopedic Technologist who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and enjoys being a go-to resource for your team? We’re looking for a confident, collaborative ATC/OTC Clinic Lead to support high-quality orthopedic care while serving as the on-site clinical leader for one of our satellite clinic locations.
This is a unique opportunity to blend direct patient care with clinical leadership and operational coordination—without formal direct reports. You’ll be a trusted mentor, problem-solver, and partner to providers and staff, helping ensure smooth clinic flow and an exceptional patient experience.
What You’ll DoAs the Clinic Lead, you’ll play a key role in both patient care and daily clinic operations, including:
Clinical Leadership & Operations- Serve as the on-site clinical lead, coordinating daily workflow and delegating tasks within scope of practice
- Collaborate closely with the Patient Access Manager and Clinic Manager to support efficient operations
- Assist with provider and APP scheduling and proactively address staffing or workflow challenges
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing guidance for staff and students
- Provide feedback and input to leadership regarding staff performance and clinic operations
- Room patients and obtain vital signs and measurements
- Perform casting, splinting, bracing, and DME fitting within scope
- Assist with injections, procedures, and imaging as allowed
- Support physicians during patient assessments, exams, and procedures
- Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Assist with urgent scheduling needs, patient calls, and coordination between clinical and administrative teams
- Collaborate with surgical scheduling teams to coordinate pre-op testing, patient education, and follow-up care
- Ensure documentation, orders, and signatures are completed accurately and on time
- Support surgery reconciliations, consult documentation, and billing workflows
- Promote safety, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) or Certified Orthopedic Technologist (OTC)
- Active, unrestricted license/certification as required by the State of Maine
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic or musculoskeletal clinical setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous clinic lead, senior clinical, or informal leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of orthopedic workflows and procedures
- Strong clinical competency within orthopedic scope of practice
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional, compassionate approach to patient care
- Proficiency with EMRs and standard office software
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based culture
