The Recovery Coach role provides outreach counseling services to persons incarcerated as well as for persons released from jail who have substance abuse problems. This includes facilitation of self help and support groups, individual consultation and referrals for recovery services.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Case Management, Human Services and/or Mental Health treatment preferred.
Certifications:
Eligibility for Maine Certification/Licensure in Alcohol and Drug Counseling preferred.
Experience in counseling, community collaboration related to substance use issues.
Required:
Two years of sobriety if in recovery at time of hire required.
