Description

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the production facility. This role supports receiving, inventory management, and the timely delivery of materials to the production floor to keep operations running without interruption. The Material Handler operates warehouse equipment including forklifts and scissor lifts, maintains accurate inventory records, and upholds the highest standards of safety and organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receiving & Inventory Management
  • Unload incoming deliveries from loading docks and delivery trucks; verify that all received materials match the corresponding purchase order in quantity, description, and condition.
  • Inspect the quality of all incoming deliveries and flag any discrepancies, damages, or non-conformances to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date account of stock and inventory levels using company systems and processes.
  • Process material returns by completing required documentation, labeling, and coordination with the Supply Chain team.
  • Replenish Kanban locations and production line stock to prevent material shortages and line stoppages.
Material Handling & Storage
  • Move and store materials in designated locations using pallets, containers, shelving, and racking systems in accordance with storage procedures.
  • Deliver raw materials, components, and supplies to the production floor as directed by the production schedule or supervisor.
  • Stage finished goods for shipment and coordinate with the Shipping team to ensure accurate and timely outbound transfers.
  • Handle materials safely to prevent damage to product, equipment, or facility.
Equipment Operation
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and in compliance with certification requirements.
  • Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections; report any maintenance needs or safety concerns immediately.
  • Forklift certification required; minimum two years of forklift operating experience preferred.
Safety & Compliance
  • Comply with all safety, health, and OSHA regulations; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse and production area through consistent application of the 5S program.
  • Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, and incident reporting as required.
  • Supports and models STARC Systems values and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned, relevant to the role and in support of the needs of the company.
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification required; OSHA forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience operating scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed to support production schedules.

Schedule and Compensation

This is a second shift position with hours of 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The base pay range for this position is $20.00 to $22.50 per hour. A $2.00 per hour shift differential will apply for hours worked between 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
