Job Summary
Responsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting activities for voice, video and data services. Completes field assessments, meets company standards/metrics, and completes necessary certifications and education for current role and for consideration for advancement.
Core Responsibilities- Perform installations and changes of service, adhering to company procedures, safe work practices, National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and local ordinances.
- Complete all customer interactions and service calls.
- Troubleshoot the drop from the tap to the customer's equipment.
- Assess and design basic home networks using coaxial cable, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, and MoCA based on customer needs.
- Record all work details timely for entry in the customer's account.
- Determine acceptability of service by reviewing testing results and adjust/fix service to provide the best possible service.
- Design Wi‑Fi network placement, consider channels, co‑channel interference, and channel utilization.
- Provide customer education on products, services, and device expectations.
- Maintain vehicle and equipment, report repair needs, keep inventory of CPE, and maintain installation tools.
- Use digital tools for work order management and diagnostics.
- Obtain appropriate licensing and background checks as required.
- Demonstrate judgment in decision‑making, problem solving, and project management.
- Perform work from high places, climb poles, and operate ladders and bucket trucks as required.
- Lift and carry loads of 70 lbs. or more, work in confined spaces, and perform work near power lines.
- Operate company vehicle safely during scheduled work days.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co‑workers.
- Complete required training and certification tests within specified timeframe.
- Work in various weather conditions and may include nights, weekends, and mandatory overtime.
- Meet or exceed established goals and performance metrics.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Base pay: $20/hr
