You will service gas fireplaces, inserts, and stoves in residential homes throughout southern Maine. Most appointments include diagnostics, repairs, annual cleanings, safety inspections, and explaining findings to homeowners.
This is not a traditional fuel-delivery or emergency heating-service position. Your work will primarily consist of scheduled residential service appointments.
Gas service will be the initial focus of the position. Over time, you will also be expected to learn pellet stove and fireplace maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
Previous pellet stove experience is not required. We will provide hands‑on training, but you must be willing to learn and expand your skills.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair gas fireplaces, inserts, and stoves
- Perform annual cleanings and safety inspections
- Troubleshoot ignition systems, gas valves, venting, electrical components, and controls
- Clearly explain findings and recommended next steps to homeowners
- Accurately document completed work, parts used, and job notes
- Keep the company service vehicle clean, organized, and stocked
- Learn to maintain, diagnose, and repair pellet stoves and additional hearth products
- Provide professional and respectful customer service
Base pay ranges from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on licensing, directly related experience, diagnostic ability, and demonstrated skill level. Performance incentives are available in addition to base pay. Strong technicians who consistently complete quality work, operate efficiently, document jobs properly, and minimize preventable callbacks have the opportunity to earn $42.00+ per hour.
The incentive program rewards quality and productivity. It is not designed to encourage technicians to rush through appointments or recommend unnecessary work.
Requirements- Valid Maine Propane and Natural Gas Technician License
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability
- Professional communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently after completing training
- Willingness to learn pellet stoves, fireplaces, and additional hearth products
- Ability to work respectfully inside customers’ homes
- Gas fireplace, insert, stove, or gas appliance service
- Troubleshooting ignition systems, valves, controls, and electrical components
- Pellet stove or hearth‑industry experience

We provide installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services to homeowners throughout southern Maine.
