We are seeking a CNC Operations Manager to own daily production execution and scheduling in a growing precision machining environment. This role is responsible for converting plans into results—ensuring jobs flow efficiently through the shop, teams are aligned, and commitments are met.
You will work directly alongside the Executive Vice President, with the support of experienced Supervisors and Department Leads. This is a hands‑on leadership role with a clear development path into broader operational responsibility.
This position is ideal for a high‑performing manufacturing leader ready to step into a larger operational role with mentorship, structure, and room to grow.
Key Responsibilities Production & Scheduling Ownership- Own the daily production schedule across CNC machining and assembly operations
- Balance capacity, priorities, delivery commitments, and schedule adjustments to minimize disruption and maintain efficient overall flow
- Proactively identify constraints, conflicts, and risks before they impact delivery
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality to ensure smooth job releases and manufacturability
- Lead and support Supervisors and Department Leads to ensure consistent execution
- Set daily production priorities and ensure clear communication across teams
- Drive accountability without micromanaging—enable leaders to lead
- Foster a culture of ownership, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement
- Monitor and improve key metrics, including:
- Scrap and rework
- Partner with Quality and Engineering to address recurring issues at the root cause level
- Participate in operational improvement projects (process improvements, layout changes, capacity planning, etc.)
- Gradually take on broader operational responsibility as the role matures
- Contribute to building scalable systems that support long‑term growth
- 8+ years in CNC manufacturing or precision machining high‑mix environments
- Prior experience owning or heavily influencing production scheduling
- Demonstrated leadership experience (leads, supervisors, or cross‑functional teams)
- Strong understanding of CNC machining workflows and shop‑floor realities
- Comfortable working within ERP/MRP systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation
- Ability to make decisions, communicate clearly, and hold teams accountable
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience with customer communication
- Exposure to AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or similar quality systems
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Background working alongside engineering and quality teams
