Accountant - Technology in Brussels

Position: Accountant - Technology Company in Brussels
Our client is an innovative technology company in Brussels and is looking for its Senior Accountant.

Already active across multiple European markets, the company is entering a new phase of accelerated growth and is looking for a Senior Accountant & Finance Operations Specialist to help build the financial foundations that will support its next stage of development.

This is more than a traditional accounting role. You will work directly alongside the Head of Finance and senior leadership, helping transform finance into a strategic business partner for a rapidly scaling international business.

Your Mission

As a key member of the Finance team, you will contribute to creating a reliable, scalable, and data-driven finance function capable of supporting ambitious growth objectives.
You will combine operational accounting expertise with process improvement, financial analysis, and business partnering responsibilities.

Accounting & Financial Reporting
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the organization
Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
Prepare financial reports for management, investors, and board meetings
Support statutory, tax, and compliance obligations
Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and advisors

Treasury & Cash Management
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions
Improve collection processes and working capital management
Build visibility around future cash requirements and financial performance

Process Optimization & Automation
Review and improve financial processes and controls
Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies
Contribute to the implementation of new tools and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions
Support the development of scalable finance operations as the company grows internationally

Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
Analyze costs, supplier contracts, and operational performance
Support decision-making through financial insights and reporting
Participate in discussions around pricing, profitability, payment terms, and business model optimization
Contribute to board reporting and investor communications

International Finance Operations
Support accounting and finance activities across multiple European countries
Assist with cross-border VAT, tax and compliance matters
Contribute to inventory, revenue recognition and cost management processes
Help ensure consistency and governance across international operations

Your Profile
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance operations or financial controlling
Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting and tax regulations (VAT, corporate tax, social contributions)
Experience in a fast-growing company, technology environment or international business is a strong asset
Background in SaaS, technology, manufacturing, IoT or scale-up environments is appreciated

Technical Skills
Solid understanding of Belgian GAAP
Comfortable working with ERP systems and modern finance tools
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
Interest in automation, process optimization and AI-driven workflows

Experience with inventory accounting, hardware/software revenue streams or international operations is a plus

Languages
Fluent in English
Fluent in French and/or Dutch
