Senior Legal Counsel – Brussels

Our partner is a growing player in the payments/fin-tech sector and is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the team.

Provide business-oriented legal advice across operations, ensure compliance with Belgian and EU law
Draft, negotiate and review complex agreements with partners, suppliers and stakeholders
Manage legal risks tied to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, strategic initiatives and operational activities
Handle dispute resolution and litigation, coordinating external counsel where needed
Support board/shareholder matters, annual accounts and governance topics
Proactively monitor legislative and regulatory developments, build a legal watch and advise management
Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Operations, Compliance) to align legal tasks with business needs
Maintain and organise legal documentation and reporting to senior management

Experience:

7-10 years (law firm and/or in-house) in regulated environments

Languages:

Fluent in English and Dutch

Qualifications:

Master's in Law

Permanent role, hybrid working (Brussels)
Broad scope, direct exposure to C-level and board matters

Salary: €110-140k gross annually (depending on experience) + performance bonus
