Lube & Tire Technician

McMahons Best-One Tire in Fort Wayne, IN is hiring a Lube & Tire Technician to join our customer-focused, safety-conscious team. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform oil changes, tire mounting and rotations, basic inspections, and routine maintenance while learning from experienced technicians. You’ll interact with customers, help ensure vehicles are safe and reliable, and keep the shop clean and organized. This position offers opportunities to build technical and customer service skills and grow into advanced service, sales, or leadership roles within a trusted, community-oriented retail automotive business.

• Perform oil, lube, and filter changes on a variety of vehicles following company and manufacturer guidelines
• Inspect and rotate tires, check tread depth, and perform basic tire repairs and replacements
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections including fluids, belts, hoses, and brakes, reporting issues to senior technicians
• Use shop tools and equipment safely while maintaining a clean, organized service bay
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements to protect yourself, coworkers, and customers’ vehicles
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and clearly explain basic findings or recommended services
• Document services performed accurately on work orders and follow shop processes
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and service staff to meet shop productivity and quality standards
• Oil and filter change procedures

• Vehicle safety and maintenance inspection
• Use of automotive lifts and jacks
• Basic brake and fluid inspection
• Work order documentation
• Customer service in retail auto setting
• Shop safety and OSHA awareness
• Use of hand and power tools

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Automotive service vocational training a plus
• ASE entry-level or maintenance/light repair certification a plus
• Tire industry or safety training certifications a plus
