Summary

- Possessing extensive knowledge of techniques, instruments, and basic medical sciences.
- Being responsible for the consequences of own decisions and providing guidance to other laboratory co‑workers.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, medical laboratory science, medical technology, or other major that qualifies as an equivalency according to CLIA 42

At the time of hire or promotion, must be a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (certification by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the National Credentialing Agency, the American Medical Technologists, or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysts).
Alternatively, must have 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, performing non‑waived patient testing, and be required to pass a nationally recognized certification exam (AMT or ASCP) within 5 years and 6 months from the hire date.
Other Qualifications- Must have visual acuity and color discrimination.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
