A Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Department care is sought for a position located in Bryan, Ohio. This role involves providing high‑quality emergency nursing services within a busy ED setting, including patient assessment, IV starts, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure optimal patient care. Candidates are required to bring their Ohio RN license or a compact license on the first day of employment.

• Required Qualifications:
  • Current Ohio RN license or applicable compact license
  • Minimum of 2 years of ER experience at a facility with an annual volume of 14,000 or higher
  • Previous ER travel experience (specify years in comments)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA only
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) AHA only
  • EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Position Responsibilities:
  • Triage and assess patients arriving in the ED
  • Initiate IV lines and administer oral, intramuscular, and IV medications
  • Manage critical drips and moderate sedation
  • Report to inpatient units for admitted patients and transport them as needed
  • Provide stabilization and treatment for transfers
  • Perform EKGs and draw blood from IV starts for laboratory testing
  • Assist physicians with procedures such as reductions, chest tube placements, central lines, and intubation, including rapid sequence intubation
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and team members about patients’ plans of care
  • Utilize EPIC charting system with barcode medication administration via scanner or Rover phone
  • Operate Phillips bedside cardiac monitors, Zoll defibrillators, plumb IV pumps, and Omnicell medication cabinets
• Other Requirements:
  • Skilled at IV starts with at least 2 years of ER experience in a high‑volume facility
  • Ability to work within a team of 2‑3 nurses and a clerk or technician
  • No requirement to float to other departments
  • Dress code:
    Caribbean Blue scrubs
  • Up to 24 hours cancellation notice for scheduled shifts
  • No on‑call responsibilities, no holiday call expectations except possibly Christmas 2024
