Required Qualifications
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 Years Emergency Department Experience
    • Must be from a facility with 14,000+ annual ED visits
    • Previous ER Travel Experience Required
      • Include total years of travel experience on submission
  • License
    • Active Ohio RN License or
    • Active Compact RN License
Required Certifications
  • BLS (AHA Only)
  • ACLS (AHA Only)
  • PALS (AHA Only)
Preferred
  • TNCC
  • NIHSS
Software & Equipment Required
  • EPIC Experience
Equipment Used
  • EPIC Charting
  • Rover / WOW Barcode Medication Administration
  • Omnicell Medication Dispensing
  • Philips Cardiac Monitors
  • Zoll Defibrillators
  • Plum IV Pumps
Unit Overview
  • 13-bed Emergency Department
  • Approximately 1,250–1,350 patient visits monthly
  • Community ED environment
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio
  • Typically 3–4 patients per nurse
Team Structure
  • Works alongside
    • 2–3 RNs
    • Unit Clerk and/or ED Tech
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Triage
  • Emergency assessments
  • IV starts
  • Blood draws during IV insertion
  • Oral, IM, and IV medication administration
  • Critical care drips
  • Moderate sedation
  • EKG acquisition
  • Patient stabilization and transfers
  • Admissions and inpatient handoff
  • Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) assistance
  • Chest tube assistance
  • Central line assistance
  • Fracture/dislocation reductions
Floating Requirements
  • Not required to float to other units
  • Assignment itself includes coverage between Bryan and Montpelier locations
