WhatYou’ll Do
- Take ownership of advanced bookkeeping tasks for diverse clients, including reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements, all in compliance with firm standards.
- Process payroll and related filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare sales tax reports, quarterly filings and other routine compliance submissions.
- Provide responsive client support, including accounting guidance, software assistance, and troubleshooting.
- Support onboarding and training of new staff and assist clients in transitioning between accounting systems.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure timely delivery of books for tax preparation and participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and oversee month‑end close processes using standardized checklists.
Minimum Requirements
- Several years of hands‑on bookkeeping experience (typically 5+ years).
- Proficiency with Quick Books and willingness to learn new software as needed.
- Experience preparing payroll and payroll tax filings.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal staff.
- Ability to work independently and problem‑solve issues as they arise.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, including AI‑powered tools.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak tax season.
- Willingness to collaborate across departments and office locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Experience preparing financial statements, compilations, or similar engagements.
- Advanced Quick Books knowledge or experience supporting client transitions between systems.
- Experience training or mentoring bookkeeping staff.
- Familiarity with tax workflows and how CAS deliverables feed into tax preparation.
