Job DescriptionThe Contract Specialist supports administrative actions related to contract management. Serves as initial contact for receipt of contracts, tracks contracts throughout completion, logs contracts into the departmental database, provides initial client response, works with Directors on assignment of contracts, tracks status of pending negotiations, assists in policy development, budget preparation, reporting, and provides administrative and logistical support.

- Log contracts in the departmental database and provide initial client response.
- Work with the Director and Assistant Director on assignment of contracts and track status of pending negotiations.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, special reports, and other documents.
- Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity reports.
- Provide administrative and logistical support.
- Co‑ordinate department activities and initiatives.
- Maintain and develop department databases.
- Work with sponsors to establish TEES in sponsor’s vendor systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Sponsored research/contract management background.
- Working knowledge of Maestro ERP System, Aggie Buy, and Concur.
- Strong knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer‑service skills.
- Attention to detail and sound judgment.
