This position will execute the administrative requirements and awareness efforts for the Brazos Valley Small Business Development Center (SBDC), located in Bryan, Texas
.
Primary duties for this role include:
- Completing administrative tasks for the SBDC Program, including:
- customer service
- invoice processing and tracking
- facility operations
- workshop scheduling, and
- various reporting
- Creating awareness for the SBDC Center via:
- social media marketing
- content creation
- email marketing
- community outreach
- Assisting small business clients by teaching online marketing best practices and collateral creation
- Teaching workshops on various topics related to small business ownership
Strong candidates will have in-depth knowledge of
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
- Canva
- Marketing best practices
- Adobe CC
- Hootsuite
- Constant Contact
The SBDC program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the State of Texas. The continuation of all SBDC positions is contingent on the continuation of funding from both the SBA and the State of Texas at current levels.
Qualifications
Bachelor's and 1 year experience or 5 years of related experience, such as administrative assistance, marketing and/or communications.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
