Job Summary / Description

KBTX is looking for an innovative morning newscast producer to join our award‑winning team. We’re looking for a producer who lives for urgent, impactful coverage of what’s new, now, and next, and excels in breaking news and weather situations. As the Brazos Valley’s dominant #1 news station, you’ll have the largest and latest resources to create a show that resonates with viewers and a team of exceptional journalists committed to our community.

• Research, write, and edit daily content for television and web platforms.
• Produce a quality, accurate show that resonates with key demographics.
• Identify the day’s most important stories and source materials relevant to the audience.
• Work with management and staff to generate stories and content.
• Meet daily deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Plan and time the show to meet ratings goals.

• Good work ethic, strong people skills, and ability to be a team player with a professional attitude at all times.
• Availability to work weekends and occasional holiday work.
• At least two years of experience in a TV newsroom, and a college degree in broadcast journalism or a related field (preferred).
• Experience with ENPS, Grass Valley EDIUS, or Bit Central Oasis is a big plus.
