Position Summary

The Commercial Interior Designer is responsible for leading the interior design and furniture specification process for commercial projects from initial concept through final installation. This role owns creative design decisions while ensuring all specifications, renderings, and documentation are accurate, coordinated, and ready for ordering and installation.

This position is well-suited for a designer who can manage projects end-to-end, collaborate confidently with cross-functional teams, and serve as a client-facing design partner. As the organization continues to grow, this role plays an important part in supporting workflow efficiency and enabling leadership to focus on strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all interior design and furniture specification activities for assigned commercial projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, space requirements, budgets, and scope.
  • Develop space plans, 3D renderings, and finish boards that clearly communicate design intent using tools such as CET, AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar software.
  • Prepare detailed specifications, furniture schedules, and design documentation, validating finishes, fabrics, SKUs, configurations, and layouts for accuracy prior to ordering and installation.
  • Participate in and, as appropriate, lead client presentations and design discussions, clearly articulating concepts, product selections, and solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management, and Order Entry teams to align timelines, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring designs are feasible for manufacturing and installation.
  • Serve as the primary design point of contact on assigned projects, supporting relationship development with clients, architects, and partners.
  • Maintain organized finish libraries, samples, and product data to ensure materials remain current and accessible.
  • Support installation and project closeout by providing final drawings, specification books, clarifications, and as-built documentation as required.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities independently while contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in commercial interior design or contract furniture design preferred; candidates with strong relevant project experience and portfolios will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in CET, AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar design software.
  • Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems, manufacturers, and specification processes.
  • Interior Design licensure is a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in specifications and documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively while working independently.
  • Full-time, in-office position in Bryan, TX.
  • Comprehensive employee benefits plan available, including health-related coverage and additional perks.
  • Benefits eligibility begins immediately, with additional components becoming available after an initial employment period.

This role supports ongoing learning and professional development within a collaborative environment. As the organization grows, opportunities may arise to expand responsibilities and involvement across additional projects and clients.
