Student Ministry Pastor

New Hope Community Church – Bryan, Ohio

Position Overview

New Hope Community Church is seeking a passionate and driven?

Student Ministry Pastor?to lead a thriving and growing ministry of 150 students and 30+ volunteers (grades 6–12).

This is more than a programming role—it’s a?calling to shape the next generation. We’re looking for a leader who will build a vibrant, Christ-centered ministry where students are known, discipled, and empowered to live out their faith boldly.

This role is both?pastoral and strategic—focused on developing leaders, building sustainable systems, and reaching students not only inside the church, but across schools and the local community.

Key Responsibilities Discipleship & Spiritual Leadership
  • Champion a clear and compelling discipleship pathway that moves students toward lasting faith
  • Teach God’s Word in a way that is engaging, relevant, and transformative
  • Create environments where students grow in Scripture, prayer, and authentic community
  • Pastor students and families through real‑life moments with care and intentionality
Service Planning & Execution
  • Design and lead weekly student gatherings that are?high‑energy, engaging, and spiritually impactful
  • Build and coordinate teams across teaching, worship, and production
  • Create environments students want to invite their friends to
  • Collaborate with church staff to align with the overall vision and direction of New Hope
Volunteer Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, develop, and shepherd a team of 30+ volunteers
  • Build a leadership culture that is healthy, fun, and mission‑driven
  • Invest in leaders through coaching, encouragement, and spiritual development
  • Empower volunteers to take ownership and lead with confidence
Events, Camps & Missions
  • Lead the vision and execution of possible camps, retreats, mission trips, and key events
  • Create moments that lead to life change, commitment, and spiritual milestones
  • Oversee planning, logistics, and safety with excellence
  • Ensure strong follow‑up so impact lasts beyond the event
Community & School Engagement
  • Be a visible and relational presence in local schools and the community
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, coaches, and school leaders
  • Develop strategies to reach unchurched students
  • Inspire students to live missionally in their everyday lives
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Contribute to the overall health and vision of New Hope as part of the staff team
  • Collaborate across ministries to create a unified Next Gen strategy
  • Lead with humility, initiative, and a team‑first mindset
Qualifications
  • A growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Strong alignment with the mission and values of New Hope Community Church
  • Proven experience in student ministry leadership (preferred)
  • Dynamic communicator who connects naturally with students
  • Strong leadership and team‑building ability
  • Highly organized with the ability to execute and follow through
  • A genuine love for students and their families
