Texas A&M University College of Nursing is accepting applications for a full-time tenured faculty position to serve as the Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Nursing Education. This position includes teaching in our nationally ranked graduate and professional nursing programs. The 11-month appointment is an on-campus, in-person position located in Bryan-College Station. Applicants must meet the criteria for a tenured appointment and will be considered for the faculty titles of Associate Professor or Professor, with preference for those at the Professor rank.

Academic rank and salary are based on qualifications and experience.

The Associate Dean for Graduate and Professional Nursing Education leads and administers the development, implementation, and evaluation of an outstanding portfolio of master's and doctoral nursing programs. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Executive Associate, Associate and Assistant Deans to achieve mutual goals or address common concerns.

This administrative appointment is in the College of Nursing. The Associate Dean reports to the Executive Associate Dean of the college. The position will support the advancement of faculty on both tenure and academic professional tracks, and promote a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. The role is a 50% effort administrative appointment, 20% teaching, 20% scholarship, and 10% service.

The College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Traditional, Second degree, and RN to BSN), MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN-Nursing Education, MSN-Forensic Nursing, DNP-Leadership, DNP-Forensic Nursing, DNP-Extreme Environment Nursing, graduate certificate in Forensic Health Care and post-graduate certificates in FNP, PMHNP and AGACNP. Future plans include a PhD program and additional graduate and post-graduate certificate programs. We are a growing college offering academic programs, certificates and continuing education in Bryan-College Station, McAllen, Round Rock and online.

Job Responsibilities

50% Administrative Appointment Duties and Responsibilities

Assume a leadership role in graduate and professional programs.

* Lead and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of the graduate and professional programs in a collaborative approach with the Executive Associate Dean, other leaders, and faculty.

* Lead and oversee operations that support the graduate and professional program options and sites.

* Provide for faculty development in curriculum, assessment, evaluation, and pedagogy.

* Assign faculty workload in collaboration with the Executive Associate Dean and other College of Nursing leaders.

* Manage course schedules with course and program coordinators.

* Conduct annual reviews with faculty and support their professional development.

* Collaborate with academic leaders to oversee graduate and professional program guidelines for the College of Nursing.

* Assure adequacy of physical and fiscal resources that support the graduate and professional programs.

* Provide educational consultation to faculty regarding the development of courses.

* Collaborate with other leaders in the College of Nursing, TAMU, Health Science Center, academic clinical partners, and stakeholders within the local community.

* Assist in the recruitment and retention of faculty.

Collaborate to assure quality student enrollment, retention, program completion, licensure, and certification success initiatives.
