Full Time Instructor – History

Full time faculty position at Blinn College District in Bryan Campus.

To perform the day-to-day operations of the instructional program and to teach courses as scheduled.

• Instruction and Classroom Management
  :
  Maintain access to students through office hours and electronic communication; prepare, maintain and utilize an accurate course syllabus and assessments; employ a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources; maintain student participation and attendance; conduct classes and final exams punctually.
• Student Success
  :
  Advise or refer students to available academic support, advising, and counseling services; maintain a positive and professional relationship with students.
• Assessment Duties
  :
  Assess students' performances through a range of formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback in a timely manner, and assist in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Professional Development and Service
  :
  Participate in professional development opportunities and effective teaching methodologies; actively engage in collegial activities across the department, college, and community, including committees and partner collaborations.
• Institutional Responsibilities
  :
  Submit timely reports and forms to appropriate divisions; comply with all college policies and procedures; exhibit effective written and oral communication skills; attend orientations, required meetings, and trainings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Master's degree in History or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in History.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructors, staff, administration, and students.
• Ability to instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives.

• College-level teaching experience preferred.
• Community College teaching experience desired.
• On-line teaching experience.
• Experience in Dual Credit classrooms.
• Experience in teaching US History, Texas History, and/or World History/Western Civilization.
