Position Title
Full Time Instructor - History
LocationBlinn College, Bryan Campus
Responsibilities- Teach courses as scheduled.
- Maintain access to students through office hours and electronic communication.
- Prepare, maintain, and utilize accurate course syllabi and assessments in accordance with institutional guidelines.
- Use a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
- Maintain student participation and attendance in class.
- Conduct classes and final exams punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.
- Advise or refer students to available academic support, advising, and counseling services.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with students.
- Hold sole responsibility for assessing students' performances through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
- Commit to lifelong learning through participation in professional development opportunities and effective teaching methodologies.
- Actively engage in collegial activities across the department, college, and community, including departmental meetings, committees, and partner collaborations.
- Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions.
- Comply with all college policies and procedures.
- Exhibit effective written and oral communication skills.
- Attend college orientations, required institutional meetings, and trainings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in History, or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in History.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors, staff, administration, and students.
- Ability to instruct students while achieving course learning objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- College-level teaching experience preferred.
- Community college teaching experience desired.
- Online teaching experience.
- Experience in Dual Credit classrooms.
- Experience teaching US History, Texas History, and/or World History/Western Civilization.
