Job Overview

Job Title: Instructional Designer III

Location: Bryan, Texas

Job Type: Staff, Full-Time

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

As the lead instructional designer for the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing at TexasA&MHealth College of Nursing, you will develop and support classroom, hybrid, and online courses and training materials. You will lead faculty and staff through the design process, manage development projects, and ensure quality and best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Manage course design and development projects for the Center.
  • Administer and maintain online development courses/resources for continuing education.
  • Lead faculty and staff through the design process and provide key recommendations.
  • Research, review, and recommend software, multimedia applications, and web‑based educational technologies.
  • Collaborate with instructors and subject‑matter experts to design and develop online, blended, and web‑enhanced forensic nursing continuing education courses and ECHO SAFE programs.
  • Design online modules and oversee coordination with the instructional design and multimedia teams.
  • Create, edit, and update website content using a content management system such as Canvas.
  • Utilize HTML, CSS, and basic website design tools to support content management.
  • Operate HD video and photography equipment to produce promotional and educational content.
  • Identify and recommend instructional strategies, technologies, and applications for continuing education.
  • Consult and lead faculty and staff on curriculum design for continuing education and ECHO SAFE programs.
  • Assist during live webinars and manage event registration, user accounts, and communication templates.
  • Perform usability studies and create reports for the Center’s continuing education programs.
  • Lead and manage the course review process.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience in curriculum/instructional design and program coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in curriculum/instructional design or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience developing eLearning courses using Articulate
    360:
    Rise or Storyline, Camtasia, and Adobe Captivate.
  • Experience with continuing education / professional development programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to multi‑task, work cooperatively, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in word‑processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of online course design principles, mobile learning, and responsive e/mLearning courses.
  • Experience with learning management systems and instructional technologies.
  • Proficiency in designing eLearning courses using Articulate
    360, Camtasia, and Adobe Captivate.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service and present information clearly.
