Position Overview
Wage Agency Instructor – Transportation – Civil Engineer
Location:
Bryan, Texas.
Contract Type:
Temporary/Casual Staff (Fixed Term / Part‑time).
Availability: 2 positions.
Compensation: $45.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in training specialty skilled and/or semi‑skilled courses within the Transportation Program, under direction.
- Apply adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success and course effectiveness.
- Deliver instruction via online, classroom, and field‑based skills training, and provide technical assistance in specialty areas.
- Use a variety of media to present course material.
- Assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content as needed.
- Maintain technical competence and professional skills.
- Report to the Agency Training Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- At least four years of experience in roadway design, transportation, and highway safety.
- Minimum one year of adult education and/or training experience.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Associate’s degree plus six years of roadway design, transportation, and highway safety experience, or high school diploma/GED plus eight years of such experience. Must also include one year of adult education and/or training experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Five or more years in transportation and roadway design related discipline.
- Knowledge of Texas Department of Transportation regulations.
- Five or more years of adult education and/or training experience.
