Position Overview

Wage Agency Instructor – Transportation – Civil Engineer

Location:

Bryan, Texas.

Contract Type:
Temporary/Casual Staff (Fixed Term / Part‑time).

Availability: 2 positions.

Compensation: $45.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in training specialty skilled and/or semi‑skilled courses within the Transportation Program, under direction.
  • Apply adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success and course effectiveness.
  • Deliver instruction via online, classroom, and field‑based skills training, and provide technical assistance in specialty areas.
  • Use a variety of media to present course material.
  • Assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content as needed.
  • Maintain technical competence and professional skills.
  • Report to the Agency Training Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • At least four years of experience in roadway design, transportation, and highway safety.
  • Minimum one year of adult education and/or training experience.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Education / Experience Equivalency

Associate’s degree plus six years of roadway design, transportation, and highway safety experience, or high school diploma/GED plus eight years of such experience. Must also include one year of adult education and/or training experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years in transportation and roadway design related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Texas Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Five or more years of adult education and/or training experience.
