Systems Engineer
Network Engineer III – A&M System Offices, Brazos Valley (Recruiting Agency). Salary: $5,186.75 – $7,552.17 per month (commensurate with experience).
Job SummaryThe Network Engineer III serves as technical lead for network engineering projects, providing oversight, coordinating technical activities of a team, and delivering reports and summaries for management.
Responsibilities- Implement and coordinate design activities for very complex networking projects.
- Review network design plans.
- Implement and coordinate tests to certify projects to required installation design standards.
- Review plans for installation and testing of enterprise-level networks.
- Help coordinate and monitor the problem management process, including backup support.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, track, and repair complex enterprise data communication network problems.
- Provide technical oversight for development of plans for new networks or upgrades.
- Facilitate input from clients, systems administrators, contractors, and vendors to develop specifications and plans for large and complex networking projects.
- Oversee the documentation process for network engineering.
- Monitor and audit documentation of network engineering designs, plans, maps, methods, procedures, problems, and repairs.
- Create, evaluate, and approve plans for implementation of new technology deployments and system integration testing.
- Help oversee monitoring and maintenance of network security.
- Coordinate evaluation of new technologies and make recommendations based on the evaluation.
- Collaborate with the project leader to develop work plans and time schedules, including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of related experience.
Certifications & LicensesSenior level networking certification.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of project management, mentoring, negotiation skills, basic vendor relations, advanced client relations skills, proposal writing, business acumen, persuasive communication, adaptability to change, team leadership skills, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors and lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively.
- Occasional work outside normal office hours.
- Cisco Certification.
- Active security clearance (SECRET or higher).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
