GPAC is proud to be partnered with a leading steel fabrication and erection company known for its work across commercial, industrial, and residential markets. Our client is seeking a highly skilled Steel Detailer with a strong background in both structural steel and miscellaneous metals to join their growing drafting and design team.
Key Responsibilities- Create detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, catwalks, etc.) using industry-standard software.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate them into accurate shop and field drawings.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawing accuracy and clarity.
- Review and modify drawings based on design changes, RFIs, and markups.
- Ensure drawings are completed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Maintain organized project files and collaborate on schedules to meet production deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the detailing process.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Steel Detailer.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following software tools:
Tekla, SDS/2, Advanced Steel, AutoCAD, or equivalent. - Strong understanding of both structural steel and miscellaneous metals detailing.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects.
- Comfortable using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
