Physical Therapist – UHC Staffing Physical Therapist

Location: Bryan, TX

Start Date: 03-02-2026

End Date: 05-25-2026

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift); required 2 full weekends per month with comp days during the week; may require up to 3 weekends in 5-weekend months; occasional minimal coverage at College Station

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough patient evaluations and complete documentation in MEDITECH, aiming for one completed eval per hour
  • Provide therapeutic treatments and daily care, with an expectation of about 10 completed treatments in an 8-hour shift when treating
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians and the interdisciplinary team to create safe, effective care plans
  • Precept, mentor and support PTAs and techs as needed to develop a strong unit
  • Cover scheduled weekend rotations and alternate holidays as part of the team commitment
  • Complete unit-specific orientation and follow hospital procedures and protocols for high-quality acute care
  • Float to nearby sites occasionally to support coverage needs while maintaining continuity of care
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in Texas (license to submit required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, with preference for inpatient acute care experience
  • Proficiency with MEDITECH or similar EMR systems for accurate documentation
  • Comfort working with PTAs, OTAs and rehab techs and ability to precept when needed
  • Willingness to work scheduled weekends and participate in holiday rotation
Knowledge & Skills
  • Patient evaluation and clinical reasoning for acute care populations
  • Therapeutic treatments across trauma, ortho, neuro, oncology and general medical diagnoses
  • Inpatient acute care workflows and safety practices
  • MEDITECH charting and precise documentation skills
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration and clear communication
  • Experience supervising and delegating to PTAs and rehab techs
  • Ability to manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced, level III trauma center
