WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FLOAT MEDICAL ASSISTANT
We are seeking an experienced, patient‑care‑oriented, and talented medical assistant to join our clinical team. Pay will be determined based on experience, skill set, and if you are certified.
NOTE:
The available positions are full time, and we are not able to accommodate part time students.
Candidate must have excellent patient relations, strong attention to detail, the ability to follow directives from multiple levels of staff, assume responsibility for assignments, and perform the essential duties of the position. Candidate will require flexibility to their day-to-day responsibilities as this position is to cover for Medical Assistants that are out on paid time off or need to call in due to illness or an emergency.
PRIMARYDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare charts for medical appointments.
- Room patients in a timely manner.
- Obtain and record vital signs (weight, manual blood pressure, and heart rate) and medical history in the EMR.
- Perform EKGs.
- Accurately record patients’ medications.
- Answer incoming calls.
- Assist with patient communications (patient portal, email, etc.).
- Obtain medical records from outside healthcare facilities.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and assist providers with procedures and patient care.
- Work directly with providers and other medical support staff.
- Maintain patient information using EMR software.
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- This is a summary of primary duties and responsibilities.
- A current CMA certificate with experience in a medical office setting OR 8–12 consecutive months of medical assistant experience in a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in eClinical
Works and Meditech (preferred). - Strong computer and keyboarding skills.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Ability to wear a phone headset.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while supporting multiple providers and team members.
- Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, and appropriate clinical pharmacology protocols within the MA scope of practice.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD‑10 codes.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- BLS or willing to obtain.
This is a full‑time, hourly position with great benefits.
Clinic Hours- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m.
-5:00 p.m. - Friday: 8:00 a.m.
-12:00 p.m. - Occasional overtime may be required, but it is rare. No nights, weekends, or on call.
