Position: Deputy Director of Health Services - Juvenile Services - Residential Mental - 1

Job Title

Oversees the implementation, quality assurance, compliance to contractual agreements and statistical reporting requirements for all therapeutic services, both residential and non-residential. In addition, this position will provide psychological testing, therapeutic services, training and professional consultation to the Juvenile Probation Department.

Essential Duties

Other duties may be assigned. Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing of all contract services. Assists in planning, coordinating and conducting on-going therapeutic psychological testing and related services for juveniles. Makes professional recommendations on individual cases to the probation officer to be presented to court. Responds to emergency situations on a 24-hour on-call basis. Assists with and conducts staff training and development.

Conducts regular monitoring of service providers for compliance with State and other regulatory standards. Assists in the annual procurement of service providers with the Assistant Director of Juvenile Services. Develops and reviews existing programs and makes recommendations for modifications and improvements in service delivery. Compiles and formulates statistical information as required by contract State/Federal mandates for funding. Remain current at all times as a psychologist with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Provide supervision of interns and staff Licensed Psychological Associate. Be on call 24 hours a day seven days a week for crisis intervention Follow established policies, procedures and practices of the department. Maintain security and confidentiality of all case information, files and chronos as required by the Texas Family Code. Facilitates and participates in departmental programs. Education Required

Ph.D. in Psychology or related field and licensed as a psychologist with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, or be eligible to be licensed within six (6) months of employment.

Valid Texas driver's license with appropriate liability auto insurance coverage (Driver's license requirements must be met within 30 days if employee recently moved from another state).
