Vascular Sonographer / Vascular Technician – Private Cardiology Practice (No Weekends or Call)
We are growing our vascular department and are seeking a full‑time, skilled vascular sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations for a multi‑provider cardiology practice. The sonographer will prepare patients for scans, operate ultrasound equipment, work with physicians to review vascular images, and assist with in‑office vein procedures.
To be successful, you should accurately interpret sonograms, provide excellent patient care, pay close attention to detail, and be able to explain technical language in understandable terms for patients.
Practice HoursMonday – Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm (no weekends or call).
Vascular Sonographer Responsibilities- Preparing and updating patients' medical records.
- Ensuring that the lab, examination rooms, tools, and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
- Preparing patients for ultrasound examinations.
- Operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment.
- Performing sonographic examinations to develop vascular images, including carotid duplex, upper/lower arterial duplex, upper/lower venous duplex (including insufficiency), abdominal aorta duplex.
- Generating analytical reports and documentation from sonogram results.
- Assisting physicians with reviewing and interpreting ultrasound images.
- Setting up the room and assisting physicians with in‑office vein procedures.
- Communicating and explaining sonography examinations to patients.
- Performing administrative tasks such as managing patient schedules and filing diagnostic reports.
- Staying up to date with the latest advancements in sonography technology and techniques.
- Relevant ARDMS credential such as registered vascular technologist (RVT) or registered vascular sonographer (RVS) through CCI.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vascular sonographer is preferred.
Excellent knowledge of sonography technology and ultrasound equipment. - Familiarity with patient medical software such as eClinical
Works and Vidistar. - Excellent diagnostic and interpretive abilities.
