Job Purpose
The Manager of Infection, Prevention & Control at BRAZOS VALLEY COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY INC is responsible for overseeing and implementing effective infection control policies and procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well‑being of patients, staff, and visitors by minimizing the risk of infection within the healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor infection control programs and policies in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of improvement in infection prevention and control.
- Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices and protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to investigate and manage outbreaks, ensuring swift and effective response to infection‑related incidents.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to infection control activities and outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in infection prevention and control to continuously enhance the agency's practices.
- Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with national and local infection control standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in infection prevention and control within a healthcare setting.
- Proven track record in managing and leading teams effectively.
- Experience in developing and implementing infection control policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to infection control.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills to assess infection risks and implement appropriate control measures.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs on infection prevention and control practices.
