Job SummaryOur team seeks a collaborative, responsible member to complete payrolls and manage benefits. This position is responsible for processing accurate payrolls, including correct earning and deduction entries. Prior experience with a payroll system (preferably Paycom) is required. This position is also responsible for benefits administration through payroll software and working with employees to explain benefits and answer questions.
Please note that this is a fully in-person role.
- Confirm earnings and deductions in our payroll system.
- Review time sheets, wage computations, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into payroll system.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, pay adjustments, and confirm information in our payroll system.
- Ensure employee information such as exemptions, transfers, terminations, and hires are accurately and timely maintained.
- Keep track of leave time such as PTO.
- Communicate information to employees and managers regarding payroll and benefit matters.
- Conduct benefits enrollment for new employees.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and terminations.
- Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, and other HR programs; recommend any corrective action.
- Update HR spreadsheets with employee change requests and processes paperwork.
- Assist with performance review forms.
- Assist HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
- Make photocopies, fax documents, and perform other clerical functions as needed.
- File papers and documents into appropriate employee files as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- All other duties as requested by supervisor.
- BS degree in Human Resources or Business Degree preferred.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and sign a confidentiality agreement.
- 5 years of business management experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of laws surrounding payroll preferred.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop spreadsheets and understand complex mathematical equations which can be applied to business and other manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of payroll software;
Paycom experience strongly preferred. - Deadline oriented.
- Prior experience with data entry, administration, and computer skills is required.
- Advanced training or certification in HR preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to communicate with Spanish‑speaking employees regarding payroll and benefits is a plus.
- Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, and Power Point.
- Ability to handle stressful situations when they arise and use sound judgment.
- Exceptional attendance.
- Sits for several hours or more per day.
- May stand and walk several hours per day.
- Sometimes lifts and carries heavy objects.
- Bends, stretches, reaches and twists while performing duties of the job.
- Frequently uses fingers to operate telephone, grasp and use writing implements and papers, operate calculator and computer, and perform other job duties.

- Be aware of surroundings and location of items needed.

- Needs of customers in person and over the telephone.

- Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers, both over the phone and in person.
- Must be alert and able to identify a hazard, should one occur, in order to avoid it, by correcting immediately or reporting immediately as necessary.
