Responsibilities
- Sanitation Procedures: Execute thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures according to company protocols and regulatory guidelines, including equipment disassembly, chemical cleaning, and sanitation of production areas.
- Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify sanitation issues or areas requiring maintenance; monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory and promptly report deficiencies or replenishment needs.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and sanitation regulations, such as FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards, and keep abreast of regulatory updates to modify procedures accordingly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and sanitation logs; assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.

Collaboration:
Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to coordinate sanitation activities with production schedules and communicate effectively to address sanitation‑related issues. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements; participate in training sessions and continuous learning to stay updated on best practices.
- Flexibility:
Work overtime and non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in food safety or sanitation preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in sanitation, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation best practices.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work involves frequent exposure to various environmental elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, noise, vibration, and physical risks associated with mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemicals, electrical hazards, fire, and communicable diseases. The position requires standing, walking, lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, fine dexterity, and daily reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting.
