- Follow all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Consistently meet production schedule plan and attainment goals by efficiently removing molded parts from press, deflashing, and cutting sprue off, as needed.
- Start and shutdown assigned press. Identify and correct any press problems as they occur.
- Learn different equipment/operations and rotate to all workstations within the area.
- Maintain a constant visual on parts produced and perform visual quality audits to ensure all surfaces are within standards. Communicate product quality issues to appropriate parties.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Always maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstation areas.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labor).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, group leads, and business unit managers.
- Use hand tools (hammer, pick, pry bar, putty knife, utility knife, pin gauges, flex arm, etc.).
- Model expectations and provide positive feedback to drive desired behaviors.
- Document and submit performance reporting as required.
- Gain knowledge and keep up to date on safety and quality regulatory notices.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality per company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Meet the physical demands of the job.
- Work well with others in a team atmosphere.
- Safely remove molded parts from hot presses.
- Show strong attention to detail.
- Be flexible with work schedules and willing to work overtime as required.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and actively participate in training.
- Minimum High School Diploma, GED or one-year equivalent experience required.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Experience operating hand tools is a plus.
- Capable of growing in knowledge and demonstrating competency in the job.
- Communicate well in both verbal and written forms.
- Generate reporting documents and participate in team meetings.
- Be self‑motivated with the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Good general ability with use of computer touch screens and written documents.
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Stand while operating molding equipment for extended periods.
- Walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach and lift with hands and arms; talk, see, and hear.
- Perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting enclosures.
- Use hands and wrists continuously.
- Carry, push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Molded parts and material regularly weigh up to 20 lbs.
- Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and pulling of parts.
- May need to be available for extended shift hours and assist in emergency situations.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time based on operational needs.
The environment is open and may involve moderate or occasional unfavorable conditions such as cold, dust, heat, noise, odor, and chemicals. Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, heat protective sleeves, and safety shoes may be required based on safety PPE standards.
