Are you an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist looking to move away from boring repetitive production machining into a fun varied, highly skilled job-shop environment where every day brings a different challenge?

Do you want to join a growing family-owned machine shop where you're trusted to get the job done, have flexibility around life's commitments, and work directly alongside a passionate team?

This is a family-run, specialist precision machine shop supporting OEMs that manufacture custom offshore and industrial equipment who specialises in low-volume, high-mix machining, producing one-off and small-batch precision components for customers operating in the offshore, marine and industrial sectors.

This would suit someone who enjoys solving machining challenges, setting up different jobs every day and likes working in a close-knit, calmer environment where quality matters far more than production volume.

This is your chance to move away from repetitive production and join a small family business where your treated like a person and the work is fun and varied.

THE ROLE
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes from engineering drawings, including loading tooling, setting offsets and producing first-off components to specification.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure all dimensions and tolerances are achieved.
  • Machine a wide variety of one-off and low-volume precision components, making program edits where required.
  • Work closely with the owner and small team to deliver high-quality work in a flexible, fast-paced job shop environment.
THE PERSON
  • Experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with the ability to independently set up machines and produce first-off components to tolerance.
  • Confident reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and bore gauges.
  • Background in a job shop, custom machining or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated team player who enjoys variety, problem solving and working in a close-knit, family-run business.
