Emergency Medicine, RN Nurse
Job Description:
Step into a fast-paced Emergency Department travel contract as an RN where you'll help move patients through separate vertical care, acute care, and triage workflows on a team built for quick, coordinated action. This assignment covers a Level III trauma setting with a primary stroke focus and comprehensive capabilities, supporting a wide range of cases—from high-acuity trauma activations and STEMI/rapid interventions to strokes and complex chest pain and fever presentations.
You'll work 12-hour day shifts and may float between the Bryan and College Station campuses (about 16 minutes apart), based on unit needs. A “first-eyes” nurse triages as patients enter the separate triage funneling into vertical care and acute care beds; after you've been on assignment and your skills are assessed, you may be placed in triage as well. With about 135 ER patients daily on average, your day will include managing time‑sensitive workups, supporting rapid transfusions and procedures like central line readiness, MTP, chest tubes, and responding to STEMI/stroke‑related workflows—always alongside experienced physicians and midlevels available across the day and evening.
Expect strong team culture and shared governance, with an onboarding structure that includes three ER orientation shifts. (And yes—your “vertical care” day will keep you moving—hats off to the stamina required.)
