Job Summary and Responsibilities

• Assessment:
  Perform admission and ongoing assessment of the patient’s condition; provide nursing care meeting physical, psychological, and spiritual needs; notify the doctor of changes requiring attention; reassess at appropriate intervals; modify interventions as needed.
• Planning:
  Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and transition plan to appropriate discharge; collaborate with other disciplines to meet specialized needs.
• Implementation:
  Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies; maintain patient safety initiatives and protocols including medication safety and physician orders.

  Provide and receive bedside shift reports including family participation; delegate tasks to ensure continuity of care.
• Environment & Patient Safety:
  Maintain a safe work environment; promptly remove used and soiled equipment and linen; report all safety and hazard concerns.
• Supplies:
  Maintain accurate documentation of charges and supplies used for cost containment.

• Associate of Nursing, upon hire
• At least one (1) year of RN experience, upon hire
• Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire
• Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 months
• Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 months

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Critical Care experience
