Job Summary and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities- Assessment:
Perform admission and ongoing assessment of the patient’s condition; provide nursing care meeting physical, psychological, and spiritual needs; notify the doctor of changes requiring attention; reassess at appropriate intervals; modify interventions as needed. - Planning:
Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and transition plan to appropriate discharge; collaborate with other disciplines to meet specialized needs. - Implementation:
Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies; maintain patient safety initiatives and protocols including medication safety and physician orders. - Report
Skills:
Provide and receive bedside shift reports including family participation; delegate tasks to ensure continuity of care. - Environment & Patient Safety:
Maintain a safe work environment; promptly remove used and soiled equipment and linen; report all safety and hazard concerns. - Supplies:
Maintain accurate documentation of charges and supplies used for cost containment.
- Associate of Nursing, upon hire
- At least one (1) year of RN experience, upon hire
- Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire
- Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 months
- Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 months
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Critical Care experience
