Provide advanced nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room, including assisting with elective and urgent procedures such as CABGs, valve surgeries, and complex cardiovascular interventions. Participate in pre‑operative planning, intra‑operative assistance, and post‑operative recovery. May be asked to precept unit staff and assist with teaching.
Qualifications & Experience- Minimum 4 years of hospital experience (5 years preferred)
- Cardiovascular (CV) experience, including the ability to circulate CABG procedures
- Experience with robotic surgery:
Mako (Ortho) and DaVinci (General, Urology, CV) - Neurosurgical experience, especially with craniotomies
- Orthopedic trauma experience, including total shoulder, knee, hip, and ORIF procedures (Mako experience preferred)
- General surgery experience with DaVinci robot and proficiency in open abdomen and trauma cases
- Experience in fellow specialties such as vitrectomies, ERCPs, colonoscopies, EGDs, cystoscopies, stent placements, and TURPs
- Ability to float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed
- Availability for Monday‑Friday shifts, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with one evening on‑call per week and two weekend days per month
- ACLS (AHA) certification
- BLS (AHA) certification
- Valid RN license in Texas
- BSN not required
- Proficiency with the MEDITECH charting system
Position requires trauma level 3 care in an acute nursing setting. Candidates should be comfortable with fire drills, emergency procedures, and rapid response situations.
