Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Rotating holidays (1 major)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department averaging 135 patients daily, including acute care, trauma, pediatric, and geriatric populations
  • Manage a variety of acuity levels with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for Level I traumas to 1:6–8 in vertical (fast track) care
  • Administer and monitor common vasoactive and sedation drips including Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Propofol, Fentanyl, and Levophed
  • Care for ED holds intermixed within the department, including psychiatric patients, and coordinate with respiratory therapy, patient care techs, and physician/mid-level providers
  • Float between two campuses approximately 16 minutes apart as needed; may serve as a helping hand without a direct assignment when floating
  • Pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (minimum score 83%) prior to contract start; three attempts permitted
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience
  • Experience in a facility with comparable patient volume, trauma level, and department size
  • Proficiency or ability to learn EMR systems (Pulse Check or Picis)
  • Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility within the Common Spirit/CHI/Dignity Health system within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or Primary Stroke Center environment
  • Familiarity with chest tube management, rapid transfusion protocols, and intubated patient care
  • Experience with triage workflows and high-acuity trauma cases including GSW, MVA, and multi-system trauma
  • Comfort managing pediatric patients (approximately 10–15% of patient population)
