** Salary:**$3,042.67 - $5,833.33 per month commensurate with experience.
** Job Description

Summary:

** The Technical Laboratory Coordinator, under direction of the George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex Lab Manager, coordinates and oversees the daily operational activities of the Texas A&M - RELLIS Campus STEM Building Machine Shop. The Technical Lab Coordinator ensures adherence to lab/shop standards and practices.
** Responsibilities:
** 65%:
Operations  - Coordinates and oversees the daily operational activities of the lab/shop.

- Ensures adherence to lab standards and practices.

- Oversees the maintenance of lab/shop facilities, equipment and instrumentation and coordinates for repairs.

- Provides technical expertise:
Offers guidance and troubleshooting for complex machining issues, including advanced programming, setups, and part inspections.

- Oversees quality control:
Implements and enforces robust quality control procedures to ensure all finished products meet strict engineering specifications and tolerances.

- Assists with fabrication:
Operates various machine shop equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for lab/shop.

- Develops procedures for the use of laboratory instrumentation.

- Ensures proper storage, handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
20%:
Administration
- Coordinates procurement:
Manages inventory of raw materials, tools, and supplies, and coordinates purchasing with vendors and buyers.

- Manages project documentation:
Ensures all job packets, work orders, and production records are accurate and complete.

- Assists in the development and update of instructional materials for teaching laboratories.

- Maintains equipment:
Develops and executes preventative maintenance schedules for all machine shop equipment and coordinates repairs.

- May supervise assigned staff.
15%:
Safety and Training
- Ensures lab safety:
Enforces all shop safety procedures and regulatory compliance (e.g., TAMUS EHS), conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.

- Train and mentor staff:
Trains new and existing personnel on proper machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.

- Train and mentor students:
Trains new and existing student users on proper machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.

- Fosters a culture of safety:
Leads by example to promote a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

- Other duties as assigned.

* Education and Experience:

**  - Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.  - Three years of experience as a machine shop programmer/operator.

- Experience with CNC mill, manual lathe, water jet, welding equipment, and electronic measuring equipment.

* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

**  - Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.

- Proficiency with MS Office
- Ensure attention to detail.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.

- Ability to stand extended periods of time.

- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

* Preferred Qualifications:

**- Technical or vocational degree in precision machining preferred.  - Strong proficiency with CNC and manual machining equipment  - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (such as Solid Works and Mastercam)  - Knowledge and skills in precision measuring instruments is essential  - Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
