Job Description
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for all activities required to successfully manage the quality assurance standards and procedures of the designated facility(ies). This includes the oversight of manufacturing-related quality functions at the manufacturing location(s), the enhancement of quality functions, product and process audits, and coordination of quality events to communicate and/or enhance performance.
Responsibilities- Manages Quality Assurance functions at a tactical level.
- Collaborate with Corporate Regional Leaders to improve quality performance and frequently interact with other leaders across the region.
- Acts as a key contact for suppliers and customers on quality-related issues.
- Develops and executes effective methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
- Deploy and validate approved revisions to existing methods and procedures to improve products and/or processes.
- Ensures alignment of data collection and analysis with organizational quality objectives.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Partner with production and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance product performance.
- Manage internal and external audits, including customer audits and regulatory inspections.
- Be the front-facing leader for direct plant level customer centric activities to include site visits, sales, customer service, and warranty claims.
- Work closely with product engineers for purposes such as deviation and engineering changes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of leadership or management experience
- Proficiency with reading engineering drawings and 3D software
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, methodologies, and tools (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, root cause analysis)
- Experience with ISO standards or similar quality frameworks preferred
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related software systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Primarily based in a manufacturing facility environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
- Regular walking of the production floor and interaction with operations teams
- May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toe boots
- Occasional travel may be required for training, audits, or collaboration across sites
- Combination of office and production floor work
