Postdoctoral Research Associate – Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology
Location:
Bryan, Texas. Job Type: Staff (Full‑time). Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience.
This position will advance our understanding of bacterial‑mediated immunotherapies by designing and conducting experiments using mouse models of disease, with a focus on autoimmune disorders and related conditions.
Responsibilities- Design and conduct in‑vivo experiments evaluating bacterial agents’ effects on immune responses in mouse models of disease.
- Administer bacterial treatments, monitor mouse health, and collect biological samples (blood, tissue) for analysis; optimize protocols to ensure reproducibility and IACUC compliance.
- Analyze immunological data using flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, and perform statistical analyses with Graph Pad Prism or R to interpret outcomes.
- Maintain detailed electronic lab notebooks for publication and grant reporting.
- Draft and revise manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals; prepare figures, tables, and presentations for scientific conferences.
- Maintain mouse colonies, including breeding, genotyping, and record‑keeping; order supplies and reagents.
- Attend lab meetings, present progress updates to the principal investigator and team weekly, and participate in relevant seminars, workshops, and training.
- Contribute to grant proposals by providing preliminary data or written sections as requested.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) in Microbiology, Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- 2–3 years of research experience in bacterial‑mediated therapies or mucosal immunology.
- Demonstrated expertise in mouse model experimentation, including survival studies or immune profiling (flow cytometry, ELISA).
- Experience with statistical analysis software (Graph Pad Prism, R) for immunological data interpretation.
- Prior publication record in peer‑reviewed journals related to immunotherapy or autoimmune disorders.
- Ph.D. with a focus on immunology, microbiology, or immunotherapy from an accredited institution.
- Related experience in postdoctoral research with demonstrated expertise in immunology, microbiology, or mouse model experimentation.
